Accommodation

Mt Cook Village has the Hermitage Hotel, motels, chalets, the Youth Hostel, and the Alpine Club base hut near the airport.

Twizel (45 minutes by road), has hotels, backpackers and homestay available.

During your time in the New Zealand mountains, our accommodation is mostly in alpine huts on high rock ridges.

Transport

Mt Cook National Park is accessible by both road and air services.

Fixed wing commuter aircraft, scenic flights and glacier landings are based at the airport near Mt Cook Village.

Helicopter flights fly out of Glentanner Station, 15 km, and Twizel, 58 km away.

There is a bus terminal at the Hermitage hotel, and 4WD tours are available.
